Z Sandbox PreAlpha Update 2:


hello!
another month at the studio.

this update:

6 shot grenade launcher,
general fixes and improvements,
beginning implementation of horde mode (1 enemy type)


next update:
will be taking a short break to work on metalloriffs wilden

AS A GENERAL REMINDER:

I am solely funding the game out of pocket at this point and that means paying off both myself and my programmers cost of living and all our time going to this without this project producing any income.  soon, there will be a testing branch on patreon/one time pay if people are looking for something more traditional to support.

- added functionality for dynamic entries to the scoreboard

- added "OUT OF LIVES" text when you run out of lives

- fixed something, but I honestly don't remember what it was (this isn't even a meme ๐Ÿ’€)

- added a "clear enemies between waves" game rule

- added a "skip asset preloading" setting

- added "exp_value" to the damageable class

- added "EXP" to scoreboard

- NPC EXP scales by their health when the health is changed. higher health is higher exp

- gained exp shows as a damage number when killing an enemy/destroying an object that gives exp

- fixed a bug causing damage numbers to disappear after killing an NPC

- fixed NPCs not taking headshots (the solution was telling you to aim better. there was never a bug. eat shit)

- wave timers now show in scoreboard

- wave intermission time now shows in scoreboard

- fixed an error spam. and I think created another one, no idea where it's coming from.

- fixed a bug that we were unaware of that caused all heat to have to be spent before the timer started

- added official DKD gametypes to the list

- added mouse wheel up/down as default inputs for switching weapons ๐Ÿ’€

- fixed some more error spam

- increased revive radius to 3m from 2m

- fixed teams (hopefully)

- pissed in the cat's ass

- fixed exp sync

- fixed a bug allowing you to swap weapons while in menus

- potentially fixed many player joining desync bugs

- added t-bagging enemies for 5 exp

- fixed revive multiplayer desync

- added a 300ms delay to melee kill hp gen

- separated wave and round timers in scoreboard

- added current wave, wave timer, and heat to the scoreboard 

- fixed purgatory when holding things that get deleted (fr this time ๐Ÿ’€)

- fixed wave timer going whack when wave time is set to 0

- moved scoreboard below menus (pause, console, inventory)

- fixed heat in horde mode

- raised max enemy count to 100

- fixed bounding box in tunnel, which was causing everyone to die instantly, along with other bugs

- fixed gametype team count

- edited crouch local height

- potentially fixed skeleton spawn speed 

- fixed waypoints showing at start 

- fixed players dying twice 

- fixed several weapon sync issues

- fixed every get_tree() error and possibly crash

- fixed teams spawning too close to enemy contestants

- nerfed heavy

- fixed crouch height stuff

- prevented jumping while forced ceiling crouch is above 90%

- fixed double deaths

- fixed multiplayer jump pad sounds

- fixed mantling preventing jump pads from working

- made jump pads clear mantle input window

- reduced mantle input window from 1s to 400ms

- fixed melee hp regeneration

- melee now forces hp regeneration for 1.2s (will equal to 2-3 ticks)
